Wine Description

Raw Materials:


Own vineyards from Carraquintana and San Andrés plot.


Altitude 920 m above sea level.


Variety: 100% Tinta del País. (Tempranillo)


Age of the vines: 80 years old approximately.


Spring pruning to control the number of clusters per shoot.


Approximate production: 2,000 kg per hectare.


Type of soil: top soils are sandy sediment, clay and limestone lower layers.


Hand-picked harvest in 15 kg boxes, selecting the best grapes.


 


Winemaking:


In stainless steel, 10,000 l vats that are temperature controlled.


Aged in oak barrels for 18 months, 20% of american oak trees which are from the areas of Missouri and the Apalaches and 80% from French oak trees in Nevers.


Natural clarification during 2 months ageing in vats to bind the aromas before bottling, followed by a further 12 months of ageing in the bottle before they are sold.




 


Tasting Notes

Bright ruby red with purple tones.


On the nose: Very complex with spicy aromas of pepper, cinnamon and vanilla, with notes of truffle a core of ripe fruits, all of which are perfectly integrated together with the mineral aromas gained from the clay soil.


On the mouth, this wine has a full-bodied bouquet with spicy aromas and a flavourful, complex finish.
