Sara Juan Ovejero, a native of Spain, is the winemaker at Bela, CVNE's winery in Ribera del Duero. A graduate in oenology from the University of Valladolid, Sara Juan has acquired vast experience in the world of wine through her extensive training, experience and studies in this field. Sara Juan complimented her oenology degree with further studies in organic vineyard production and vinification technology at the Institut des Sciences de la Vigne et du Vin de Bordeaux.
Her professional experience at a number of wineries throughout Spain, in France at Château Angélus, Saint-Emilion and in South Africa at Koelenhof Wine Cellar, afforded Sara Juan the opportunity to develop a vast array of comprehensive skills applicable to all areas of winery operations. Currently, at Bela, Sara Juan is responsible for overseeing the entire winemaking process from grape harvesting through bottling, including crushing, fermentation, lab analysis, aging and blending.
In addition, as a gifted linguist fluent in English, Italian, French and her native Spanish, Sara Juan also hosts winery visits and tastings for local and international guests.
