This is the story of a passion. The passion shared by the Alonso del Yerro family. Back in 2002, we installed ourselves at Finca Santa Marta (Roa, Burgos), in the D.O. Ribera del Duero, to work a group of plots strictly chosen and planted with Tempranillo grapes. Our intention was clear - to make great quality wines, in accordance with the principles in which we strongly believe -respect towards environment, value of friendship, love for our family, and passion for excellence.
Our philosophy is based on the strength of family, friendship and respect for the environment. This philosophy and our passion for wine led us to create Vinedos Alonso del Yerro. Our winery is located in the very heart of the Ribera del Duero region. We apply traditional techniques to obtain the best harvests and grapes and spare no resources to ensure we produce the highest quality wines.
La Luz del Duero was founded almost thirty years ago by Spaniards below the Peñafiel Castle, is the vineyard terrain that synthesizes the heart of the Ribera del Duero, the Denomination of Origin which is world-renowned for its stately style and its grapes, that seem that they grow knowing that they will be the best wine of Spain.
Viña Arnaiz is located in a former fortress, in the municipality of Haza, Burgos.
With more than 80 hectares of vineyards surrounding the winery and the winemaking caves that date from the 12th century situated right in front of it, Viña Arnaiz becomes the idyllic enclave for those who love wine, history and peace.
The winery was built in 2001, with the materials that best represent the traditional architecture in Spain: stone and wood. Needless to say, however, that the machinery used for the elaboration of wine is the most modern available in the market.
Thanks to this, our winemaker makes the fruitiest and most structured wines, using grapes from not only the surrounding of our winery but also different areas in the region. Always finding the perfect balance, blending the authentic and local Tinta del País (majority in all blends) with the international Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
