Fruit of the restless character of the winemaker, Juan Luis Cañas, we have produced Dominio de Cair, a new challenge which can be expressed in a single goal, to make great wines in an exceptional land, the Ribera del Duero region. A project which springs from a passion for the vineyard and is culminated by the creation of this wine cellar.
Dominio de Pingus is a Spanish winery located in Quintanilla de Onésimo in Valladolid province with vineyards in the La Horra area of the Ribera del Duero region. Dominio de Pingus was established in 1995 by Danish oenologist Peter Sisseck, also manager of the Pesquera de Duero estate Hacienda Monasterio. On the estate's winemaking philosophies, Sisseck has stated, The vines in my plots are very old. They have never been fertilised nor treated with pesticides and all grow following the traditional en vaso system. They are perfect.
The Ébano Viñedos y Bodegas, S.L. estate comprises 48 hectares of vineyards in Quintana del Pidio and Gumiel del Mercado in the Ribera del Duero D.O. The appellation is known for its harsh continental climate, the “fire and ice” of legend, and the wines show a powerful character born of the marriage of uncompromising winemaking and exceptional terroir.
Bodeags El Inicio is a small winery brimming with technology and the knowledge necessary to elaborate and age great wines. The winery it is situated in a historic site with no possibility of amplification. It was in the past a typical Castilian winery where wine was sold freely in cantaras (old fashioned 16 liters bottles). Some quality wine was bottled without the Ribera del Duero label as this did not yet exist. Local products were also sold here such as pastries and pulses which were popular with the many visitors who were attracted to this emblematic Castilian village.
The story of El Lagar de Isilla started in 1995. It all started in the 15th century historic underground cavern below the restaurant Lagar de Isilla in Aranda de Duero. There, at depth of 12 metres, the Zapatero Pinto family elaborated the first 50,000 bottles of wine which today serves as a reference for the 250,000 bottles now produced annually.
Located in the town of Pesquera in the Valladolid district, Emilio Moro is a family-owned winery with over 120 years of winemaking history in Ribera del Duero. The family owns 173 acres of vineyards located in several parcels in Pesquera del Duero. The average age of the vines is 10 to 25 years, and the vineyards are located at high altitude -1,950 feet - on the banks of the Duero River. The first vineyards were planted in 1932 in the year of the founder, Emilio Moro's birth and the winery works with a pure clone of the Tinto Fino transplanted from their earliest vines. Soils are clay with gravel and chalk, and the area is endowed with the harsh, continental climate that defines the unique character of Ribera wines.
The objective of our bodega is to make top quality wines, therefore, we carefully select the grapes from some of the best estates and domains. The harvest, carried out at just the right time, is skilfully done by hand, making sure there is a selection on the vine to bring only the best grapes to the winery. In order to produce Emina's red wines, the grape has been carefully selected from the very best estates in the “Golden triangle” of wine in the Designation of Origin “Ribera del Duero”. The grapes are harvested at just the right time and they are always picked by hand, undergoing a quality selection process at the same time. As for our Ruedas, the Emina winery is located in Medina del Campo, Valladolid in the Rueda D.O. The modern bodega shares landscape with La Mota castle and is surrounded by a veritable garden of white grapes and olive trees that allow the creation of excellent olive oil. And our wine? The French oak enhances and gives complexity and harmony to our structured and fresh Verdejo wine.
The Rivera-Aparicio family owns some of the most precious and ancient vines which have been preserved for almost 100 years. These oenological treasures possess their own “prefiloxeric” clone, which has been reproduced in the younger vines. This makes the wines of our family to be unique and to express the characteristic features of the clone.
Valduero is a family winery and one of the first to be founded in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. It was created by Gregorio García Alvarez in the small village of Gumiel de Mercado, which is located 16km northeast of Aranda de Duero in the province of Burgos. At Valduero, we have always maintained that wines should be excellent in every respect in order to satisfy and give pleasure to the consumer. Valduero concentrates on making Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva wines.
Félix Callejo was born in June 1943 at Sotillo de la Ribera. His family had a long tradition of working in the wine world. Both his grandfather, Faustino, and his father, Felix, owned vineyards and were also “corredores de vino”, or local wine brokers, who acted as agents to find buyers for batches of wine produced by growers in Sotillo.
The Felix Lorenzo Cachazo winery is family owned and has been making wine for over 60 years. Using a mix of traditional and modern techniques, we have taken wine from the old excavated cellars dug by our ancestors to a modern above-ground facility suitable for processing our quality Ribera and Rueda wines.
